Get in Touch

This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, retrieve an official booking record, release anyone, post bond, or change a public record. Contact the responsible government office directly for an official answer.

Official Records Contacts

The Russell County Sheriff's Office is the first official contact for a county-jail booking, current-custody question, or sheriff record. The current county site does not list a separate records-unit email or a public jail roster. Call the main office and ask for the KORA records custodian or jail administration contact.

The Kansas Sheriffs' Association directory lists the office and jail administration as available 24/7 at the same main number. Verify access before visiting. Use the route that matches the question:

  • For a booking photo, intake record, release record, or current jail inquiry, begin with the county records hub and contact the sheriff's KORA custodian.
  • For a Russell city incident report, use the dedicated Russell Police records route. Gorham and Lucas have no separate police-record portal in the reviewed sources.
  • For an outstanding-warrant concern, follow Wanted Fugitives to the verified sheriff and issuing-court contacts. Do not rely on an unverified caller or private list.
  • For a recent arrest or news report, compare county booking channels with Arrest News. A news story is not a complete custody feed.
  • For release status or notifications from a Kansas county jail, use Kansas VINE. It provides custody alerts rather than booking photographs.
  • For the outcome of a case, contact Russell County District Court at 785-483-5641 or use Kansas court public access. The court disposition is separate from charges at booking.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner's public profile, use the Kansas Department of Corrections KASPER offender search. For federal custody use the BOP locator; for immigration detention use the ICE detainee locator.

A KORA request should identify an existing record with a full name, approximate date, agency, and case or booking number when known. The county has not published a separate booking-photo fee schedule. Ask for an itemized estimate. Kansas agencies generally must respond to a request as soon as possible and by the end of the third business day, but that is a response deadline, not a guarantee that records will be produced within three days.
